Read from the 'Recreation Programmer' title page. 'Recreation programmer' and 'Recreation coordinator' are both listed example titles in NOC 41406 (https://noc.esdc.gc.ca/Structure/NOCProfile?GocTemplateCulture=en-CA&code=41406&version=2021.0). Reference period: 2023-2024. Source: Labour Force Survey - Statistics Canada. Job Bank page states 'These wages were updated on November 19, 2025.' What affects pay
Employment model
Employed trainers earn a wage; many others are contractors or rent space and keep session fees. Official surveys mostly count employees, so self-employed earnings are not in these figures.
Client base
Specialist work (post-rehab, seniors, pre/postnatal, sport performance) and a full book of returning clients lift income more than headline hourly rates suggest.
Location
City gyms and studios charge more per session and usually pay more, but rents and costs are higher too.
