Band 5 annual values inclusive of Inner London HCAS from the NHS Employers 'HCAS rates (inner)' table (entry £38,488, mid £41,511, top £46,852). HCAS inner: '20 per cent of basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £5,794 and a maximum payment of £8,746'; the page states the annual rate inclusive of HCAS is the higher value of the two.
What affects pay
Setting
Hospitals, home health, skilled nursing and private outpatient clinics pay differently. Home and travel work often pays more per visit but carries mileage and unpaid admin time.
Experience and caseload
Pay climbs with years of practice and with specialist caseloads such as neuro, pelvic health or sport. Clinics that pay per patient reward a full schedule.
